An established cohousing community in Hobart, that is also a housing co-operative.
The Cohousing Co-operative is one of only a few established Cohousing developments in Tasmania. Our community is unique in being both a housing co-operative and a cohousing community, being government funded, and its small size (12 households). Houses are available for those on low incomes and in housing need, and all houses are rental properties.

New residents need to be low income earners and eligible for public housing.
Common meals are on Wednesdays and Sundays.
All dietary requirements catered for.
We are a co-operative, so we abide by the seven international principles of co-operation, and decision-making is via consensus.
All households pay rent, which is used for maintenance, administration, insurance, etc.
